Genuinely undecided. The finding looks like it could go either way and the scan cannot break the tie, so something else — a follow-up, a different scan, a specialist — has to.
Where you’ll see this
The impression, usually alongside a recommendation for the next step.
Your report may word it “Inconclusive” or “Indeterminate”. These mean the same thing.
Questions worth asking your doctor
- Does this wording mean you are unsure, or that you are reasonably confident and being careful?
- If something cannot be ruled out from this scan, what would rule it out?
- Is there anything here you would act on today?
