What this tool does
A scan slice as a one-page PDF
Load a DICOM folder or a NIfTI volume, choose the plane and slice, and download it as a single-page PDF built on your device. The image is embedded as a JPEG inside the PDF, so the file stays small enough to email.
Why PDF rather than an image
It is the format that reliably survives being emailed to a clinic, attached to a portal message, or handed to a receptionist to print. A PDF opens on every machine without anyone having to know what a .dcm file is.
Pick the plane, then the exact slice
Axial, coronal and sagittal are all available and the slice is chosen with a scrubber, so you can export the level your report actually refers to rather than the middle of the stack.
JPG and PNG from the same panel
The same tool exports PNG and JPG. Take whichever the person receiving it prefers — PNG when the detail matters, JPG or PDF when the size limit does.
Assembled in your browser
The scan is decoded locally and the PDF is written on your device. Nothing is uploaded, which is not true of most "convert to PDF" sites.
What it does not do
One slice per PDF — no multi-page export of a whole series, no contact sheet, and no header text, patient banner or report page. The image is the rendered view with your current window and colormap, sized to the on-screen canvas, so it is a document to share rather than an archival copy.
How to use it

- Is the PDF made in my browser?
- Yes. The scan is decoded and rendered locally, and the PDF is assembled on your device — the file is never uploaded to a server.
- Can I also get a JPG or PNG?
- Yes — the same tool exports JPG and PNG as well as PDF. Pick whichever your doctor or portal prefers.
- Will the PDF include patient identity?
- The PDF contains only the image of the slice — DICOM identity tags are not embedded. Review it before sharing to be sure.
